Hey guys, keep your calendars clear on the night of Friday, July 16. Our own Justin Rodgers and Todd Crompton will be competing in the  BattleFC Cage Fighting event. Justin weighs in at 185 and Todd is at 205, so these will be two great fights of the night. Come show your support and cheer these guys on to victory!

Battlefield Fighting Championship is the premiere fighting venue in Virginia. Unlike some other local fight promoters, BattleFC only has trained professionals fighting. This isn’t just a bunch of local tough guys slugging it out, and then getting winded after a minute of fighting. in order to get on the card, you have to be able to actually fight in a professional manner.

And let’s face it, what good is a fight promoter that lets anyone fight? It’s bad for new fighters and experienced fighters alike. New fighters aren’t learning anything from getting beat by a pro, and it leaves them lying bloody and beaten with nothing to show for it.  Plus, it really artificially inflates the other guys record. There is no honor in beating down a vastly inferior opponent.

For a fight to truly count for anything, you need to be sure that your opponent is skilled in the fighting arts, and is a worthy challenge. When the fight is a battle between two equally skilled opponents, then everyone goes home a winner. The victor because he knows he triumphed due to his ability. The loser learns his weaknesses and can fix them. And the crowd goes away happy because they saw a fight between two skilled competitors, not just a barroom brawl.

So if your going to any fighting venue, pick a BattleFC venue. UFC fighter Phil Davis and Kris McCray, who’s in the finals of the Ultimate Fighter this season, have both fought on BattleFC cards. You’re not getting that level of professionalism from anyone else in Virginia.

If you want to be able to fight professionally it takes hard work and dedication, as well as a good instructor. For the best MMA training in Fredericksburg, visit The Lab. Professor LeBrun is the ONLY black belt in Jiu Jitsu in the surrounding area, and is a former professional fighter, so if anyone in Fredericksburg is going to get you to the top, it’s him.
