Last night was the BattleFC Cage Fight! Were you there? If not, you missed some great fights, including our own Justin Rodgers kicking ass. There were a total of seven fights last night, plus a boxing exhibition that featured Stennis Floyd, the boxing coach at the Lab MMA. Everyone fought well, and it was a great night for a fight in Fredericksburg!
Of course, the main event for us was the fight between Justin Rodgers and Nathan Guitard. Rodgers was fighting out of the red corner, and Guitard was in the blue. When the round started, they came out, bumped gloves, and it was on!
But not for long.
After a brief exchange of punches, Rodgers feinted, and Guitard did nothing, so Rodgers went for the take down. He passed Guitard’s guard, took the mount, and proceeded to rain down pain on Guitards face with some basic ground and pound. Then Guitard flipped over letting Rodgers take his back. Rodgers slipped Guitard into a rear naked choke, and it was game over for Guitard, who quickly realized the futility of his struggle and tapped out!
All of this in 1 minute and 10 seconds.
This was textbook MMA fighting at it’s finest. Congratulations are definitely in order for Justin Rodgers for demonstrating perfect technique in his fight and coming out victorious! Good job Justin, and we can’t wait to see your next fight!
