One of the highlights of this weekend is the UFC 119 event. Starting Saturday, September 25th at 10 o’clock on Pay-Per-View, these fights promise to be pretty good. While not the most exciting fight card, it should still make for an enjoyable evening at the bar or in front of the TV.

Frank Mir and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic headline the fight card for UFC 119.  This promises to be an interesting match, pitting Mir’s submission techniques against Cro Cop’s raw power. Mir has the ground game and Cro Cop is a stand up power fighter.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but my money is on Frank Mir.  I always have to go with the guy representing my form, and Frank Mir holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is sure to make this a great fight for the fans. Mir brings UFC championship experience to the fight and looks tough to beat.

Cro Cop, the Croatian special forces/anti-terrorist cop (hence Cro Cop) brings his legendary kicks to the battle with Mir. Cro Cop has a good chance of being the one to beat Mir.  He brings his left handed style and a power striking game, highlighted by brutal kicks, to the match with Mir.

It seems that the winner of this fight will likely go on to face Randy Couture.

While watching MMA on TV is fun, it’s even more fun if you participate. If you think you have what it takes, come down to the Lab MMA and do some UFC Training in Stafford now!
